Mia Germain Palencia
Singer/Songwriter

Mia Palencia, a Malaysian songwriter is actively on the look out for ways to help improve the present status quo of Malaysia’s performing arts scene. She believes there is an abundance of local aspiring talents impatiently waiting for the right opportunity to grow and develop into successful artistes. She is also aware that there is an urgent need in Malaysia to build upon a source of inspiration to preserve and perhaps protect such heritage.  She aspires to be instrumental to the growth and development of Malaysia’s local music industry. Savoy, Swinging Down to Business, The Summer Jazz Series and The Falalas, “A Christmas Choir Project” are some noted ongoing projects also created by Mia Palencia herself.
Mia Palencia released her first single “Sayang” on the 2nd of September, 2006. She is a member of Malaysia’s local famous duo “Double Take” and has recorded two albums known as One Voice, 6 Strings, Twelve Moods; and One Voice, Six Strings, Twelve Days of Christmas.  Mia Palencia’s original work is also found in both albums. What seems credible and worthy about Double Take in the local music scene is that both Double Take as artistes and their albums have been reviewed by an American music writer and critic, Jim Trageser, who lives in San Diego, California. These articles may be read at www.turbula.net from the Fall 2003 issue and also published the North County Times, San Diego, in December 2005 alongside reviews of world renowned jazz musician such as Diana Krall. As a songwriter and musician, it is of relative importance to have the substance of American appeal, gaining exposure, and presence in their marketplace.

Mia gives private vocal coaching and loves working particularly with children.

Mia, is contracted with Warner Chappell, Hong Kong. Some of her songs are successfully recorded by famous Taiwan artistes, the likes of Harlem Yu and Garden Sisters in the Chinese language. One of her song “She Says” is a theme song for a series in Taiwan, “Tokyo Juliet” as a sound track.

Timothy Tiah Ewe Tiam
Co-founder of Nuffnang.com
Timothy co-founded Nuffnang - Asia’s first blog advertising company. At its birth, Nuffnang brought to the table a concept that shook the Malaysian blogosphere; suddenly, advertisers could harness a previously untapped advertising medium, and bloggers could earn money from simply blogging – a business model which advertisers and bloggers alike embraced.

Starting as a four-man team in Penang, the Nuffnang team expanded quickly, and within the same year saw the opening of new offices in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Within a short span of time, Nuffnang has garnered an impressive portfolio of clients, ranging from local titans Maxis, DiGi, Air Asia, Media Prima and TM to multinational brands like Nokia, Nike, Honda, Nestle, Unilever, Citibank and F&N.

Nuffnang has also caught the attention of the media, having appeared in The Star InTech, StarBIZ, R.AGE, Guang Ming Daily, Sin Chew Daily and in the Singapore Straits Times. Nuffnang has also been covered in many magazines from technology magazines like HWM, to lifestyle ones like KLue in which Timothy was featured as one of the “20 Under 40” people.

Timothy and his partner Ming are both extremely proud of Nuffnang, but they both remain undistracted by their achievements thus far, and remain insistent that Nuffnang has a long way to go before they would both consider it a success story to tell.
