The inaugural National Youth Entrepreneur Convention, the first of its kind in Malaysia, is a youth-speak-to-youth event aimed at empowering youths in Malaysia who are aspiring to be entrepreneurs. Held in conjunction with YOUTH’08, Malaysia’s Youth Lifestyle Showcase, the Convention was held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur on January 19, 2008 and was jointly brought to you by YouthMalaysia.com and Young Malaysian Graduates Society, in association with Lifelong Learning Malaysia.  The launch was officiated by YB Dato’ Liow Tiong Lai, Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, who also delivered the Keynote Address.

In line with our nation’s aspirations of youth empowerment, the Convention, themed ‘Empowerment: Yes I Can’, was aimed at inculcating the values pertaining to the life-long process of learning and providing fresh impetus and dynamism through entrepreneurship. Having featured some of Malaysia’s leading youth entrepreneurs who have taken their respective industries by storm, the Convention served as a platform for aspiring youth entrepreneurs to be inspired and empowered to rise to prominence through knowledge, guidance and experiences shared. The Convention is also an avenue for youths to discover and explore new career opportunities, as well as motivate them to see entrepreneurship as a means of improving society’s quality of life.
